Meta One is a set of paid subscriptions for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, launched 15 September 2026. For businesses, tiers from Advanced upward include clickable links in organic posts and Reels, with monthly caps. As of 9 October 2026, Meta has not said that subscribing improves reach, so most small businesses should pay only for what the tier concretely delivers.

Key Takeaways

  • Business tiers, per TechCrunch and Jon Loomer: Essential $14.99, Advanced $49.99, Expert $149 and Max $499 per month "and up".
  • Links in organic posts and Reels start at Advanced; Instagram caps are 4, 8 and 12 a month at Advanced, Expert and Max per Loomer, Metricool and Blotato. One outlier source differs, noted below.
  • Essential is mostly verification and impersonation monitoring, per Loomer.
  • Meta's Helen Ma says subscribing does not inherently increase organic reach (via LBB). Be sceptical of anyone who claims it does.
  • Prices are per account and may vary by region; India pricing was not published in the sources I opened.

What Meta One is

TechCrunch reported on 15 September 2026 that Meta expanded its subscription push with new AI-focused plans. Individuals get Core ($7.99 a month) and Premium ($19.99), which include Facebook Plus, Instagram Plus and WhatsApp Plus features, while the existing add-ons are Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at $3.99 and WhatsApp Plus at $2.99, per TechCrunch. The same article lists the business and creator tiers.

Where the sources conflict (and mostly agree)

Three more secondary sources help. Metricool (17 September 2026) lists the same monthly link allowances as Loomer: Advanced 4 Instagram and 8 Facebook, Expert 8 and 20, Max 12 and unlimited. Blotato (23 September 2026) agrees on Instagram and adds that Facebook Pages without a subscription get 2 link posts or comments a month, that links to Meta's own apps, catalogue product links, affiliate links and ad links do not count toward Facebook limits, and that Instagram link posts are not available without a plan. Blotato prints Expert and Max as $149.99 and $499.99, against $149 and $499 elsewhere, so confirm cents on Meta's page. LBB says clickable links in organic Instagram and Facebook posts and Reels arrive at the $49.99 Advanced tier, and that Meta claims over 15 million subscriptions and trials in testing (a company figure).

Jon Loomer's breakdown, which cites Meta's own pages, lists Max as unlimited on Facebook but 12 on Instagram, and gives Advanced 4 Instagram links. A secondary blog, AdLibrary, says Expert has 8 Instagram and 20 Facebook link posts and reels, says Max has no cap, and says it found no number for Essential or Advanced. It explicitly treats those as undocumented rather than unlimited. I could not open Meta's own pages (the Facebook newsroom link blocks automated fetches), so check Meta's official comparison before you buy. Since Loomer, Metricool and Blotato agree, I would treat AdLibrary as the outlier on Max, but I did not verify against Meta's pages. TechCrunch does not mention Facebook link-post limits in the portion I read.

What you are really buying

Verification and protection

Essential is, according to Loomer, essentially Meta Verified: a badge and impersonation monitoring. If your brand is being copied on Instagram or WhatsApp, that is a concrete benefit.

Instagram captions have long been poor at links. Paid tiers change that, within caps. For a business that sells through a landing page, the ability to link from a post might matter. But the cap is small. Loomer's table has Advanced at 4 Instagram link posts or Reels a month, so you would need to choose your best offers carefully.

Support, seats and WhatsApp credits

Higher tiers add support cases, team seats and WhatsApp broadcast credits, per Loomer. Those are operational perks rather than growth levers.

Does paying increase reach?

This is the question everyone is asking. In an earlier eMarketer piece dated 30 March 2026, the report said Instagram subscription perks could prioritise paid reach, but framed it as a possibility, with a Story Spotlight feature that would put Stories first in carousels. That article predates the Meta One launch and does not mention Meta One by name, so it is speculation, not evidence.

LBB quotes Meta's Helen Ma saying subscribing does not inherently increase organic reach, although some plans include discoverability features such as optimised search and a Facebook carousel. Loomer likewise notes subscribers may still see suppressed reach. I could not find any independent test showing paid tiers increase organic reach, so I treat that claim as unproven. Before you pay for that reason, read Mosseri's ranking principles in my Instagram ranking plan: the stated factors are originality, recency and testing with non-followers, with no mention of subscription.

Who should pay

Probably worth it: brands being impersonated, or businesses that rely on WhatsApp Business and need support and verified channels.

Maybe: link-driven sellers on Instagram who can use 4 to 8 links a month on genuine offers, if the economics work. Estimate it: if one link post drives enough sales to cover $49.99, it pays for itself. If you cannot name the number, wait.

Probably not: accounts hoping to buy reach, or anyone who would stop posting good content because they paid.

A simple 30-day test

  1. Record a baseline: reach per post, link clicks from stories and bio, and conversions from your landing page, for the last 30 days.
  2. Buy one month of one tier on one account. Not several.
  3. Use all your link posts on your strongest offers, tagged with UTMs.
  4. Compare. Keep other variables (posting rate, ad spend) the same.
  5. Cancel if the tier does not beat the cost. Because pricing is per account, avoid multiplying the test.

If you pay for Advanced, you get roughly four Instagram link posts or Reels a month per Loomer's table, so each one needs a job:

  1. One for your single best-converting offer.
  2. One for a lead magnet that feeds an email list you own.
  3. One for a time-sensitive event or launch.
  4. One held in reserve for whatever performs best organically that month.

Tag each link with UTM parameters, and compare against what bio links and Stories did before. Do not spend a scarce link on a post that is weak, since a link cannot rescue a post nobody watches.

What this means for organic strategy

Meta is moving toward monetising features that used to be free workarounds. Expect more of this. The durable response is the same as always: build an owned audience (email, WhatsApp opt-ins, a search presence) so a platform's pricing does not set your growth rate. My Q4 organic plan covers that.

Caveats

  • Prices are in US dollars and "and up". Regional pricing was not published in what I read.
  • Tier details may change.
  • Revenue data reported by TechCrunch from Appfigures concerns Meta's earnings, not your reach.

FAQ

What is Meta One?

It is Meta's family of paid subscriptions across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, announced on 15 September 2026, with individual and business tiers.

How much do Meta One business plans cost?

Essential starts at $14.99 a month, Advanced $49.99, Expert $149 and Max $499, per TechCrunch and Jon Loomer. These are per account and may vary by region.

On paid business tiers, yes, within monthly caps. TechCrunch says Advanced includes support for links in organic posts and Reels; the exact caps differ by source.

Do paid tiers boost organic reach?

Meta's Helen Ma says subscribing does not inherently increase organic reach, per LBB. I found no independent test showing otherwise.

Bio links, Stories link stickers and ads remain available. Check Instagram's Help Center for the current rules.

Is Meta One available in India?

I did not find India pricing or availability in the sources I opened. Check Meta's official page.

What does Essential include?

According to Loomer, a verified badge, impersonation monitoring and a bio link page with up to 20 links.

Is it per account or per business?

Loomer's table says per Facebook Page, Instagram profile or WhatsApp Business number, so multiple accounts may each carry the fee.

Should an edtech or course brand pay?

Only if links to enrolment pages drive measurable sign-ups. Run the 30-day test above first.
