Evaluating LinkedIn growth

Best LinkedIn Growth Marketers: How to Judge One

On LinkedIn the brand account is usually the weaker asset. A marketer who opens with a company page calendar skipped the one decision that matters.

What the work is

LinkedIn distribution runs on early engagement from accounts the feed sees as relevant to the poster. That explains why profiles beat pages and why press-release posts go nowhere.

  • Whose profiles carry the message
  • Formats that hold attention in the feed
  • A comment strategy, since comments are distribution
  • An advocacy system people will use
  • Measurement on reshares and inbound, not followers
  • A cadence that survives a founder's travel week

7 criteria I would actually use

  1. 01

    They start with whose account

Founder, employees or brand page changes the ceiling more than the content plan.

  2. 02

They can explain why link posts underperform

Serious operators have tested outbound links, documents and native video.

  3. 03

    They refuse engagement pods

Pods inflate early signal, breach policy and teach you nothing about the audience.

  4. 04

They treat comments as the work

Replying early and commenting on other posts often beats another post.

  5. 05

    They plan advocacy with consent

Employee reach is the largest unused asset. Autoposting for people loses it.

  6. 06

    They measure past followers

Reshares, qualified profile views, inbound and hiring pipeline.

  7. 07

They know what does not belong

Not every asset suits this feed. Repurposing everything fills a calendar.

Claims to doubt

Claims I would be skeptical of.

Includes claims I could make myself. Flip a card for the reason.

  • Claim

We grew this page to 100K followers

  • Claim

    A viral formula for LinkedIn

  • Claim

    Automated commenting and connection tools

  • Claim

    Guaranteed impressions

  • Claim

    50K to 200K followers

Worth evaluating alongside me

  • A ghostwriter for the founder

If the strategy is clear and the founder's time is the constraint, this is cheaper and often better.

  • An employee advocacy platform

For a large team where coordination is the problem, tooling beats a strategist.

  • LinkedIn ads, with a smaller organic base

For narrow B2B targeting on a deadline, paid reaches the list organic would take a year to build.

  • A different channel

If your buyers are not professionals researching at work, this is an expensive place to be disciplined.

Where I fit

The part where I make a case

I ran LinkedIn for Masai School from 50K to 200K followers, organically, as part of a wider content system.

I bring the structural half: who should post, what the company page stops doing, and how content connects to search and AEO.

For steady ghostwriting for one executive, a specialist writer is cheaper and better.

Questions

Asked most.

Company page or personal profile?

Profiles reach further because the feed weights the poster-reader relationship. Use both: profiles carry the view, the page carries what buyers check after.

How often should we post?

Two considered posts a week with real engagement beats daily output nobody replies to.

Do hashtags still help?

Barely. A couple are harmless for categorisation.

What should we measure?

Reshares first, then qualified profile views, inbound and recruiting ease. Followers change the business least.

Evidence, labelled

What is confirmed, what is reported, what is a hunch.

Each claim is labelled and sourced. Google rows speak only for Google.

  • Reshares matter more than followers.

    Hypothesis

My working view. LinkedIn publishes no weights, so test against inbound and hiring.
